NACS has been a role player in the motor vehicle industry since 2008. The directors, Jeff Day and Shawn Janke, who is also the owner of HOMSS Consulting started NACS as a consulting firm, specializing in all matters pertaining to the homologation process which was instituted by the NRCS to ensure that all vehicles manufactured, built in- and imported into South Africa complies with the requirements of the National Road Traffic Act and the compulsory specifications.

Since it is compulsory for all new vehicles (including trailers, buses and trucks) to be fitted with microdots prior to registration from the 1^st of September 2012 we decided to offer the supply and fitment thereof as part of our services. With our in depth knowledge of the motor vehicle industry we are confident that we can supply and fit microdots without any disruption to the company’s production/ importation schedule. Though our main focus will be on companies within the motor vehicle industry individual customers are also more than welcome to contact us.

To streamline the process we have established a professional working relationship with Recoveri, which is a well known microdot supplier with an excellent track record. They have been supplying microdots to the South African market as well as overseas countries such as Australia, Europe, the USA and New Zealand since 2004. Recoveri is also a 100% BEE certified company, which employs mobility impaired people. All the raw materials used in the manufacturing process are sourced locally.

Recoveri manufactures 1X1mm microdots which are etched with a unique Asset Identification Number (AIN) and added to a UV based clear adhesive which cannot be counterfeited in any way. Once the microdots have been fitted the unique AIN is registered on the national database to which law enforcement agencies worldwide has access too. Lost or stolen assets can be marked as “hot dots” on this database and this will assist in the prevention of stolen goods being offered for sale as well as a deterrent to thieves and hijackers. The microdots are packaged to address all the demands of the marketplace and containers with 1000 dots (for assets such as TV’s, computers) up to 15 000 dots (vehicles and buses) are available.
